Terms of Use

Welcome to SkillConnect. By creating an account or using our services you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

1. Who can use SkillConnect

You must be 16 or older and capable of forming a binding contract under Indian law. Universities, institutes and companies must be legally registered entities. We may verify your identity at any time.

2. Your account

• Keep your credentials confidential. You're responsible for activity on your account.
• Provide accurate information. Misrepresentation may lead to suspension.
• One natural person per account; companies / universities may have multiple admin seats.

3. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

• Post jobs / postings that violate our Job Filter Governance Policy (no spam, no MLM, no restricted categories).
• Scrape, copy or re-publish content without our permission.
• Harass, defame or discriminate against other users.
• Attempt to bypass governance filters, anti-fraud or rate-limit systems.
• Upload malware, infringing content or unlawful material.
• Use the platform for any purpose other than legitimate education, hiring and placement.

4. Content & intellectual property

You keep ownership of the content you upload (CV, projects, reviews). You grant SkillConnect a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and process that content for the purpose of running the service.

All SkillConnect curriculum, course material, code, design and trademarks are owned by Techcatalyst Private Limited. You may not redistribute them without written permission.

5. Verification & certificates

Certificates are issued after you complete a SkillConnect lab. They are verifiable through our public verification URL. Issuance does not guarantee employment. Anyone caught forging or selling certificates will be permanently banned and reported to the relevant authorities.

6. Hiring & placement

SkillConnect is a marketplace and learning platform. We do not employ students and do not act as a recruitment agency. The hiring decision is made solely by the company. Offers extended through the platform are between you and that company.

7. Fees

Core student access is free. Some features (institute analytics, advanced hiring tools) may be paid. Pricing is shown clearly before purchase. All fees are quoted in INR and are subject to applicable taxes.

8. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms, fraudulent activity or to comply with the law. You may delete your account at any time from the “Danger zone” in your profile.

9. Disclaimer

The service is provided on an “as-is” basis. We make no warranty about uninterrupted availability or that you will be placed in a job.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SkillConnect's aggregate liability arising out of or relating to your use of the service is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim, capped at INR 10,000.

11. Governing law & dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the city where Techcatalyst Private Limited is registered.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We'll post the new version here and notify you in-app or via email when changes are material. Continued use means you accept the change.
